This is a West Coast Alpine Version of the Barkley Marathons.
A 20 mile loop with 10,000 feet of gain.
Baldy Marathons is a 100 Mile Challenge.
In fact it it's more like 90 miles.
Just don't forget the 10 miles of climbing.
It is the same venue as the Barkley Marathons.
Everyone who starts is in for the 100 Miler.
However, you will get credit for the distance that you finish (on time), for 20 miles, 40 miles, and the 100k.
No DNF's or DNS's here.
This course is ideal for the crazy runner that loves steep, technical, off trail rugged terrain.
It is not for beginners who do not have experience running on these types of terrain.
The 100 miler has more gain than any other "100 mile" run on the planet.
Start and finish is at the Mount Baldy Ski Lodge above Mount Baldy, CA.
Laps 3 & 4 will be in reverse direction.
Lap 5 will be runners choice, (as long as you get all 5 punches).
The ski lift is usually open at 7:00am, or it's a 2.5 mile hike to start at the ski lodge.
You pass through the ski lodge halfway into the loop.
There's water and restrooms 24/7 at the ski lodge and the restaurant is open on the weekends at 8am.
