Port Royal, SC

The Cremator Ultra 50 Mile Endurance Race was originally created our of necessity... necessity for a mid-summer training event to prepare for early Fall Ultra races. After several glasses of wine and a "how tough can we make it" conversation, the Cremator was born and like all children, it continues to grow year after year... after year!

Summer running is in fact dangerous and should not be attempted without proper training. Previous distance running is mandatory and the support of a responsible Crew Chief is required and is key to finishing the race. The race begins at 6:00am and has a 12 hour cut off. The average temperatures in Beaufort, SC in July peaks at 98 degrees with a typical heat index of well over 116 degrees. We moved the race from Hilton Head to Beaufort in 2012, as there was "too much shade on the course" .

Runners and Crew Chiefs are responsible for signing in at each check-point and leaving PRIOR to the cut off time. Runners may be supported on foot, but not from a moving vehicle. The course consists of two 25 mile loops on open roads with four aid stations along the course that will each be visited twice.

The Cremator field is limited to 50 runners per year (1 runner per mile). Since the race field is very small, no cancellations/ transfers or exceptions may be honored.
