The Festival features a 100 Mile Road record setting short course race held Friday, along with 6/12/24/48 hour races, a standard 100 mile race and a 50 mile race. Jackpot has become arguably the most inclusive, diversified and welcoming short loop ultra in the country with runners of all abilities competing together. From world record holders to newbie runners, seasoned veterans, blind runners and adaptive athletes, Jackpot offers the perfect venue, environment and overall vibe for runners to push beyond limits and hit their own personal Jackpot.
Located in Henderson, Nevada minutes from the Las Vegas strip and just 10 miles from Las Vegas Airport, the 100 acre Cornerstone Park is nestled among desert landscape and is anchored by a 31 acre bird sanctuary lake. The lake is surrounded by a massive grass area, entertainment plaza, individual picnic pavilions with lake views, walking/running trails, volleyball and basketball courts, restrooms, BBQ's and over 600 parking spots. Importantly, let's not forget all the wildlife runners get to enjoy as they race around the course. The regular certified Jackpot course consists of a certified 2.3 mile horseshoe loop with 45 feet of gentle elevation ascend/descend per loop. The "short loop: will be certified at 1.2 miles long on 95% hard surface. At an elevation of 1,900 feet and average early March high/low temperature of 68/48, the Jackpot course is extremely fast. Running on a course that is 45% groomed crushed gravel trails, 50% wide asphalt paths, and just 5% bridge and concrete surfaces, the course is well suited for veteran runners wanting to PR, and with a 32 hour time limit (for the long course) and 40 hours (for the short course), it is perfect for first time ultra runners. The RFID chip timed race starts at the entertainment plaza and makes a horseshoe type loop around the lake with lots of social runner interactions. Runners will be treated to three small picturesque bridge crossings every loop. As illustrated in past results, the Jackpot course has become one of the fastest looped courses in the Southwest.
