San Diego, CA

Entry limit is 25 runners. This is a fat ass event, no fee, no support, no award. You run around Canyon Hills Open Space, which has 2 almost parallel dirt service roads (for water company & SDG&E) and a couple of short trails connecting the two roads. The round trip is about 4 mi but almost no point is more than a mile away (most parts are just half mile or less away) from the peak of hill, which is our starting and ending point, and also the place you can put your food and water. There are 4 picnic tables around the peak. The race start at 6PM which is just before the moon arise and end at 6AM just after moon set for 12 hours. You can finish your race any time during that 12 hrs span. Write down your mileage and elevation gain at sign off sheet (you can also join our strava group and I may check the digits there). The final mileage is a hardrock adjusted one as: ( your elevation gain / 330 ft + your mileage ) / 2. For example if you ran 20 mi with 3300 ft of elevation gain, your official result/mileage will be (3300/330 + 20)/2 = 15 mi. You lost 5 mi for not enough of climbings. So while there is a trail map, you don't have to follow a particular route, you can run whatever parts and repeats you like, as long as they are inside of Canyon Hill Open Space.
