More than just a run...
2024 update:
We will be hosting the Night Crawler again in 2024! We are navigating changes to our start/finish area due to Casper Mountain Rd. construction, as well as new trails center construction.
So please, stay tuned and we'll update you all as this information becomes set.
We're excited to see you all again for year 8 on Fri. Aug. 23, 2024!
The Night Crawler Endurance Challenge is central Wyoming's only solo ultramarathon and team relay. Run overnight through the forested trails atop beautiful 8,100-foot Casper Mountain. Run as a solo ultrarunner, or gather your fellow night crawling friends together for a 2 or 4-person relay team.
The Night Crawler begins at 6:30 PM on Friday evening continuing throughout the night, and finishes at 6:30 AM on Saturday. Set up a tent, hammock, or chair in the start/lap/finish area and take a break between laps to enjoy the camaraderie of our awesome trail running community. Are you up for the challenge?

The Challenge...
Participants will follow a scenic, rolling race course atop Casper Mountain. The course consists of forested single track and cross-country ski trails, with minimal-moderate technical difficulty… Perfect for a run at night!
The event will begin under a beautiful August sunset, continuing throughout the night under the illumination of your headlamps and the moon, finishing as the sun rises revealing the alpen-glow of our stunning mountain gem. Participants will switch directions every lap, (“washing-machine” style), with odd-number laps (1,3,5 etc.) run clockwise and even-number laps (2,4,6 etc.) run counterclockwise.
Camping will unfortunately not be available this year at established sites for before, during and after the event.
During the event participants and their crews are encouraged to use the start/lap/finish area for staging. Set up a tent, hammock, chair, etc. and take as little or as much time as you want between laps to get to know your fellow trail runners and enjoy the camaraderie of the event. *Please use your own discretion as far as where you set up, and keep in mind that you do not have to set up in the start/finish area. Vehicles may be driven in to drop off and pick-up gear, but cannot stay. If you decide to use another location (Like your campsite along the course) please just be sure to communicate that with race officials, and remember to check in and out at the start/finish after each lap.*
Awards Every participant will receive a finisher award. There are no DNF’s with this event! Complete as many miles/laps as you can, and feel good about it. No 12 hour requirement.
