Running Up for Air (aka RUFA) Squaw Peak is a 6-hour or 12-hour winter endurance challenge that takes place on Squaw Peak on the east side of Provo. Each “lap” starts and finishes at the Rock Canyon Trailhead 2620 North 1450 East, Provo, UT. Parking is available at the trailhead but we encourage participants to carpool.

The race begins at the pavilion by the Rock Canyon parking lot and climbs up Rock Canyon 1.7 miles then forks left for 2 more miles to the Squaw Peak summit. A small aid station and check in awaits on top. Follow your footsteps (likely in snow) back down to the base area. Each lap is 7.5 miles long, with ~2,800’ of elevation gain. Repeat this route as many times as possible. The time of year (March) is intentional as it coincides with the latter part of the winter inversion “season.”
