We’re excited to be able to offer a World-Class 10-Day and 6-day race that will take place June 13 - June 23, 2024 at the amazing Pettit National Ice Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The Pettit Center has a state of the art 443.445 meter indoor oval that will be the ideal setting for world record attempts. We will have a total of approximately 150 runners from across the globe that will competing and attempting to break existing World, National, or Age Group records in the 12-Hour, 24-Hour, 48-Hour, 72-Hour, 6-Day, and 10-Day events. History
2023 was the fifth edition of the “Six Days in the Dome Running Festival”. The Pettit National Ice Center in Milwaukee, WI. is now the permanent home for the event.
This year, the Festival was expanded to include distances 12Hr, 24Hr, 48Hr, 72Hr, Six Days and 10 Days. Since there are multiple events at the distances, the results from each event will be combined.
In the 1st time 12Hr event, Jerry Bloom was the Overall Champion with 75.2252 miles (121.0633KM). Anthony Hanks was the Men’s Runner-Up with 31.1372 miles. Chavet Hills was the Women’s Champion and 2nd OA with 72.4696 miles (116.6287KM). Rachel Lack was Women’s Runner-Up and 3rd OA with 63.6521 miles.
In the 24Hr, Marisa Lizak was the Overall Champion with a new Dome Record 151.8982 miles (244.4564KM). Pat Hasler was the Men’s Champion and 2nd OA with 138.6018 Miles. Jenny Hoffman was the Women’s Runner-Up and 3rd OA with 136.6081 Miles, and Ron Wireman was the Men’s Runner-Up and 4th OA with 132.2641 Miles. Both Marisa and Jenny reached the 135 Mile qualifying distance for the 2023 US National 24Hr Women’s Team.
In the 48Hr event, Lisa Devona was the Overall Champion with 203.0806 miles (326.8265KM) and Lisa Georgis was the Women’s Runner-Up and 2nd OA with 153.4815 miles. Jeff Hagen was the Men’s Champion with 150.1749 miles and Michel Gouin was the Men’s Runner-Up with 105.8113 miles.
In the 1st time 72Hr event, Jim Arnold was the Men’s Champion with 206.6627 Miles (332.6627KM0 and Chris Smith was the Men’s Runner-up with 205.9516 Miles (331.4469KM). Annabel Hepworth was the Women’s Champion with 186.5476 Miles (330.2192KM).
In the Six Day Event, Canadian Viktoria Brown was the Overall Champion with 457.4135 Miles (736.1356KM). On her way, Viktoria set both a Canadian 48Hr with 353,991 meters (219.959 miles) and a Canadian 72Hr and GOMU World Record 467,366 meters (290.407 miles). Ella Lombardi was the Women’s Runner-Up and 2nd OA with an American Women’s 45-49 Record with 435.0939 miles.
Irishman Eoin Keith was the Men’s Champion and 3rd OA with 627.9326KM (390.1792 Miles). John Geesler was the Men’s Runner-Up and 4th OA with 370.8907 (596.8907KM).
2021 was the third edition of the “ Six Days in the Dome”. The event has now found a “home” in the Pettit National Ice Center in Milwaukee, WI.
In the first 24Hr event, Tor Gudmundsen was the Overall winner with 124.5488 miles, and Heather McComb was the Women’s Champion and 3rd OA with 101.1270 miles.
In the second 24Hr event, Alex Ramsey was the Overall winner 129.5086 miles, and Angie Darbyson was the Women’s Champion and 2nd OA with 128.4064 miles.
In the 48Hr, although Olivier LeBlond and Marisa Lizak both finished with 219.8891 miles, Olivier was the Overall Winner on time (37:20:42 to 47:53:35). Marisa was the Women’s Champion.
The Six Day had Budjargal (Bud) Byambaa as the Overall winner with 561.71 miles and Joe Fejes finishing 2nd with 501.77 miles. The Women’s winner was Sandra Villness- Burruss with 422.14 miles and Yolanda Holder 2nd with 338.37 miles.
2019 was the second edition of “Six Days in the Dome”. The fabulous Pettit National Ice Center was chosen due to its much more accessible location, the ideal climate conditions, and it boasts one of the largest indoor running ovals anywhere. The highlight was undoubtedly the World Records set by Zach Bitter. Zach ran an incredible 11:19:13 to shatter the old mark in the 100 miles by over 9 minutes! He went on to also set a 12hr World Best of 104.722 miles.
The 6 day featured a shoot out between Joe Fejes, Bob Hearn, and a late charge by David Johnston. Joe prevailed with 532.7 miles, with Bob 530.22, and David at 524.16. In her first 6 day competition, Connie Gardner’s 420.26 miles bested Yolanda Holder (413.37) and third place finisher Sandra Villines’ 400.33.

The Inaugural Six Days in the Dome was held in August 2014 in Anchorage Alaska at the Alaska Dome, and was highlighted by Joe Fejes breaking the American Record for six-day with his 580 mile performance. (Joe subsequently ran even further in 2015 with a 606 mile performance at the EMU 6-day race held in Balatonfured, Hungary.)
Additionally, Traci Falbo broke the women’s 48-hour World Indoor Track Record and American Record with 242.093 miles. Numerous other national marks were set and many of our Alaska participants came home with their own personal best performances.
The Alaska race created a significant amount of buzz in the international ultrarunning community on social media and was also widely covered by the mainstream media including the following publications:

HBO boxing commentator and author Kieran Mulvaney attended the event and was the author of the ESPN article. We also had the local Anchorage TV and newspapers that had daily coverage of our event. We expect our second edition to garner even more attention.
Thanks to this top notch real-time chip timing of Mike Melton at MCM Timing and Results LLC, the Six Days in the Dome III is expected to attract more than 30,000 unique visitors to our webcast during the weeklong event. No doubt many ultrarunners across the globe will be glued to their mobile devices and computers as the race unfolds.
