Registration:
Registration will open on February 1st at 8 PM. Get in while you can, we will only have 37 spots (increases 1 spot per year) for the Last Man Standing.

Packet Pickup - 7:00 am to 8:00 am


Gun goes off - 8:00 am
7k starts - 8:05 am


Race Rules:
Only 36 people are allowed into the last-man-standing competition. Runners have
1 hour to complete a 4.5-mile loo
p, also known as a "land." Every hour the gun will go off to start the new land. If you finish the land in an hour, you wait for the gun to go off again before you continue. If you don't finish within 1 hour or you quit - you're out and ring the bell. The last person standing is titled The Backland Champion.


What You Get:
All finishers will receive a Backland long sleeve shirt and a beer or root beer. Runners who complete 103.5 miles (23 lands), will receive The Backland 100-mile belt buckle. It will be one earned buckle. Any runner who completes the feat of 153 miles (34 lands), will receive The Backland golden 150-mile belt buckle.







The winner of the Last Man Standing gets a $500 cash prize, a big trophy, and a six-pack of beer (or root beer.) The winner of the 7k will get a trophy.

Aid Station "Menu":

Under the pavilion, we will have our aid station area with the following "menu." All the food and beverages are included with your registration.

Beverages - Hot Chocolate, Water, Beer, Tailwind, Sodas
 & Pickle Juice.

Food -
Mom's Homemade Chicken Tortilla Soup, Macaroni & Cheese, PB&Js.

Snacks - Variety of Fruits, Cookies, and Chips along with other snacks.

The Backland is a last-man-standing trail race near the Texas and Oklahoma border. This race is run on a majority trail with a bit of road. Our motto is "Run Till You Can't".
