Tiger Peak Challenge

June 29th, 2024 5M·Half Marathon·50K

June 29th, 2024

The name says it all — challenge! If you’re looking for a race to make your legs come alive, this is the one for you. Our Tiger Peak Challenge will have you climbing two of Tiger Mountain’s peaks, and if that doesn’t satisfy your need for elevation, you can always run them again!

Located near Issaquah, WA, Tiger Mountain State Forest is a 13,745-acre working forest that includes the West Tiger Mountain Natural Resources Conservation Area. Tiger Mountain offers many recreational opportunities, including hiking; mountain biking; equestrian trails; hang gliding; paragliding; and, of course, some of the best trail running in the area.

Woodland Speeders Kid’s Race

As part of our new Woodland Speeders program, we offer free kid’s races at all of our events. Parents are welcome to run with their kids. You can register your child during the registration process for your own race or sign them up later. The course at Tiger is mostly singletrack trail, with some sidewalk/asphalt. There is a some elevation gain and the course is  0.9 miles long. See schedule below for start time.

Evergreen Trail Runs acknowledges that the Tiger Peak Challenge takes place on the Indigenous Land of Coast Salish peoples who have reserved treaty rights to this land, specifically the Snoqualmie Indian Tribe (sdukʷalbixʷ). We thank these caretakers of this land who have lived and continue to live here since time immemorial.

We Welcome All

Committed to Making All Feel Welcome

Evergreen Trail Runs is making a new effort to make sure that everyone feels welcome and safe at our running events and in our trail running community. There is space for all on the trails. We have a non-binary registration option and a non-binary category for overall awards.

If you have a suggestion or idea for how we can improve our events in this regard, please let us know!

Race Notes:

Good News! Logging operations are complete, and we should be back to our original course for 2023! Sorry to those of you who enjoyed the bonus 2 miles!

All distances start with the same stretch of trail, but the 5M runners have a smaller loop than the half-marathoners. The brave 50K runners will do the half-marathon loop twice and then the 5-mile loop.

The trails will be open to other users during the event. See our FAQ page for more information about sharing the trails.

There will be aid stations throughout the course with volunteers to help, food to eat, and hydration to refuel. And of course, there will be an assortment of yummy food and treats waiting for you at the finish line.

This is a cupless race. All runners should carry with them a refillable container that they can run with. There will be a limited number of cups for emergency situations.
