The Tortugas "A" Mountain 24-Hour Challenge will be held on Friday, October 18 through Saturday, October 19, 2019 on trails circumnavigating Tortugas Mountain near Las Cruces, NM. The event will consist of running and/or walking a four-mile loop around the mountain as many times as one can within 24 hours in alternating directions. This year will be a free "Fatass" race. Donations will be accepted as a fundraiser for the Southern New Mexico Trail Alliance. In 2018/19 funds raised by the SNMTA were used to provide trail building/maintenance workshops, support local trail events, purchase tools, and continue advocacy and education about trails and outdoor recreation.

As with all SNMTA runs, we will be accepting donations of old shoes at the race. We suggest a one pair donation as part of registration (of course you can donate more). The shoes will be donated to the Mesilla Valley Community of Hope for those in our local community that can use a little help right now.
