The Ute 100 is the HIGHEST and most scenic race in Utah. The course tops out on Manns Peak at 12,272 ft and has an average elevation over 9,000 ft. 18,700 ft gain and same loss. The course is not meant to be hard. It is meant to be beautiful. 80 miles + of single track.
The course is run entirely in the La Sal Mountains, Utah's second highest mountain range, just a 30 minute drive from downtown Moab.
You will run through about 30 miles of alpine meadows, 30 miles of aspen groves, 30 miles of high desert over looking red rock canyons and 10 miles high up in and out of scree.
You can see the San Juan mountains in Colorado from most of the course. You'll see the sunrise over the San Juans and the sun set over Canyonlands and Arches national parks.
The stars will be on full display as you'll be at high altitude with close to zero light pollution at night.
This mountain range is home to several creatures that you might see... Elk, mountain goats, deer, turkey, owls, eagles, hawks and many more. You'll likely see more wildlife than humans.
Bring the family to Moab and experience all it has to offer. Drop them off at the parks while you come to the mountains and run what we call "The most scenic 100 miler in North America."
