The one thing I value the most when doing an ultra event is the friendships and the relationships that it brings. Whether it's at a race or at your local training area, you will ultimately find some like-minded individuals and will spark some lasting friendships built on mutual respect and interests.
Even though running an ultramarathon (or any ultra event) is an individual sport, you are so dependent on your crew, pacers, and other supporters for your success. Working so closely together through something so challenging creates a bond like no other.
